They are always in the bucket list of travelers who travel around the world to look at their mesmerizing work. After a tough competition among 21 monuments, seven were finalized and announced as the Wonders of the world. The Seven Wonders of the world with its unique architectural skill are listed below:
Taj Mahal
Popularly known to everyone as the symbol of love, was constructed in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal by the Emperor Shah Jahan. The ivory marble used for construction was collected from all around the world, and it is said that nearly 200laborsurs and 1000 elephants were used for construction. This masterpiece is located on the river banks of Yamuna and known as an epic monument of the Mughal culture.
The Great Wall Of China
The historical wall is located in the city of Beijing. It was built during the Ming dynasty to avoid the entry of invaders and improve trade across the borders. This wall is not continuous as they were built in different periods. The gap between the walls still exists which defines their age. The wall was constructed using brick, sand, stone across the northern borders of China which is spread in 5500 miles.
Christ, The Redeemer
As the word specifies, known to the people as a Redeemer, the Christ statue stands 98 feet high overlooking the city of Rio de Janeiro with his arms open. The statue was constructed as a symbol of peace and Godliness to wipe away the sins done by the Republic of Brazil. The Christ is usually depicted on a cross. However, Christ with open arms design was finalized and chosen for this place.
Petra, Jordan
It is called the Lost City of the Stone. It gained its popularity from the film Indiana Jones in which it was depicted as one of the architectural wonders with tombs and temples located in Jordan established around 300 BC. A walk through the canyon will offer you an astonishing piece of sandstone colored in pink, orange, and red. The sunlight makes the place shine brighter and attracts tourists from all over the world.
Colosseum, Rome
Colosseum, the world’s largest amphitheater was constructed in the city of Rome during 80AD. It accommodates 50000 people and has over 80 entrances. The people of Rome come over to watch gladiator combat, bullfight, and enacted dramas of famous battles. Enactments are quite interesting which showcase the history as well as provide a good source of entertainment.
Machu Picchu, Peru
